Our final Sunday Night Live service was more wonderful than words can explain. Thank you, Tyler Massie, for having a vision to make this service so special by bringing praise team members back from over the years to worship together again and pack the church. Mission accomplished! Every pew was full and the worship team was anointed! 🙌🏽 Everyone that shared memories, shed tears and loved the ministry that’s taken place “here in this place”… it all meant so much to us. We’re going to miss this place but we’re believing that the best is YET to come. #sotchurch

Pastor Don & Cathy made the announcement last Sunday night to let everyone know that after MUCH prayer, this coming Sunday night will be the last service at our Springfield location. With that being said, our team has vowed to make this last service one that will celebrate all God has done in over 25 years on Sunday nights at this location. We will be joined by praise team members from throughout the years, joining together again. Tyler Massie, Hayley Riggins, Julie Bassett, Imani Fudge, Brian Brim and possibly more will be there. If you are coming from out of town to attend Donnie’s Celebration of Life and need a hotel room, we have a group rate at the Holiday Inn Express in WCH. Rooms are $110/night. Today was our first Sunday of 2026 and we were honored to have Leo and Paula Price with us. This new year may have brought us a shock, unexpected grief, etc but we feel the love of our family and friends. Thank you to everyone who came this morning to worship with us. #sotchurch

To give everyone from out of state time to make travel plans and to give the Youngs time to process, we have set an extended date to have a Celebration of Life for Donnie. We are so honored by everyone’s extreme compassion, generosity (meals, flowers, finances, etc.) and prayers. The love everyone has for our Donnie is evident. Please accept this as your invite to come and be a part of this special day with us. Thank you to Pastor John Pfeifer and The Gathering Place Church for your hospitality and use of your facility to give us plenty of room. It is with great sorrow and extreme grief that we announce that Donnie Young Jr. went to Heaven this afternoon at 3:20 pm at Kettering Medical Center from heart failure. Please keep the Youngs in your prayers, we need the Comforter more than ever. We will not have service Sunday. If you’d like to come to the sanctuary to pray, the church will be open at 11am. Please give time for our Pastors and family to process and grieve. All announcements and arrangements will be made at a future time. Please just pray for us.
